Why Doctors and Patients Have Different Priorities

'Traditional doctors love algorithms. 

Patients X, Y, and Z have A, B, and C diseases. Patient X has disease B, which has an ICD9 (soon to become ICD10) diagnostic code. ICD codes (International Statistical Classifications of Diseases) are alphanumeric codes given to every diagnosis, description of symptoms and cause of death attributed to human beings. 

Just as lab test numbers are not the human patients, however, codes are not diseases. They are simply part of a system that makes it easier for doctors, hospitals, and health insurance companies to keep track of what’s going on with patients.'

U.S.: Two-Thirds of Doctors Favor Medical Marijuana In New Poll

'More than two out of every three physicians in the United States -- 67 percent -- say that medical marijuana should be an option for patients, according to the results of a new WebMD/Medscape poll.

WebMD on Thursday released Marijuana on Main Street, a special report looking at the debate over medicinal cannabis. The site surveyed nearly 3,000 consumers and Medscape surveyed more than 1,500 doctors about their opinions on legalization, cannabis as a treatment option, and the perceived risks and benefits of its use.

"Despite more than 20 years of anecdotal evidence about the medicinal effects of marijuana, doctors and consumers remain in search of answers," said Dr. Michael Smith, chief medical editor at WebMD. "The findings of our consumer-physician survey indicate the medical community's support for the use of marijuana as a treatment option, particularly among clinical specialists that have pioneered research.'

Doctors Change Names of Diseases When Vaccines Do Not Work

Rather than diagnosing these children correctly, professionals have discovered that the doctors are giving the diseases new names. This suggests a cover up is going on and the vaccinations we are all being told are safe and effective are in fact completely useless.'
