 Easy Homemade Coconut Milk

Why Make Coconut Milk at Home?

'Besides being so easy to make, you can avoid extra additives like guar gum and completely ditch the aluminum cans (which may contain BPA) when you make coconut milk at home! Plus, as I have mentioned before, making healthy foods like this at home allows you to control the ingredients and make a high quality product to your liking!

Coconut Milk Tips

To make the coconut milk thicker, use less water. To make it thinner, use more water. Play with the amounts to get your desired consistency.

While blending, you can throw in one to two dried organic dates to sweeten the milk, perfect for coffee or using in desserts!
Make larger batches of coconut milk by doubling or tripling the recipe.'

Black Sapote; The Chocolate Pudding Fruit

Important Editor's Note: There is a delicious Black Sapote pudding recipe included in this article, however do not use agave (not really healthy research) -instead use honey or genuine maple syrup. Also use organic, raw milk and or cream if possible or at least use organic. pastured cream/milk.

'Once you open a ripe black sapote (Diospyris dignia) you can see why it is called “chocolate pudding fruit.” The deep rich brown smooth pulp with its spoon-like consistency looks exactly like chocolate pudding.

I am often asked, “What does it taste like?” I want to reply that it tastes exactly what it tastes like but this does not help the unwary. So, for those of you who must know what something tastes like before you venture into unknown territory, it has a sweet and mild flavor and with a little imagination you can actually taste chocolate as well as hints of coffee.'

'This must be one of the most simplest recipes you can do! Pure 100% vanilla beans extract is expensive, and with the same amount of money you can buy all the ingredients and make it yourself, pure, natural and organic! They make great gifts too!

I personally like to place the organic vanilla beans in a large bottle(s) because you will need to shake the bottle(s) every week (1 -2 per week), for the entire duration of storing. Now if you make many small bottles in advance, that would be a lot of shaking vs having one or two large bottles, you can always transfer them into small decorative bottles for gifts later.

I get about a pound of organic vanilla beans which is an incredible amount of beans. Recipes seem to recommend anywhere from 3 to 6 beans per cup of alcohol. I used 6 and still had enough beans to make this recipe 5 or 6 times over, I like to put more for that dark rich taste.'
