Honey and Ginger Beat Antibiotics in Inhibiting Superbugs

|| || ,,, || Leave a comments

'Honey, and combinations of honey and herbs have been used for thousands of years to counteract various ailments including infections. And honey and ginger has been used as a healing combination for many conditions. But few realized just how antibiotic honey was - until recently.

Researchers from Ethiopa's College of Medicine at the University of Gondar have determined that a combination of honey and ginger extract powder will inhibit the growth of superbugs such as MRSA (methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus), Escherichia coli and Klebsiella pneumoniae - some of the most lethal 'superbugs' known.'

'We've all been taught that carrots would keep our eyes sharp as a child, but as an adult, it looks like fruit such as apricots are even more important for keeping your sight. Data reported in a study published in the Archives of Opthamology indicates that eating 3 or more servings of fruit per day may lower your risk of age-related macular degeneration (ARMD), the primary cause of vision loss in older adults, by 36%, compared to persons who consume less than 1.5 servings of fruit daily.'

'Writing in Nature’s British Journal of Cancer, the team behind a new analysis reported that consumption of nuts – including tree nuts such as almonds, Brazil nuts, cashews, hazelnuts, macadamias, pecans, pine nuts, pistachios and walnuts – was found to be inversely associated with risk of pancreatic cancer, independent of other potential risk factors for pancreatic cancer.'

'Two recent studies in medical literature describe seven girls and young women who were severely debilitated by a disorder that includes extreme dizziness, intense fatigue, tachycardia, heart palpitations, chest pain, severe headaches and insomnia following HPV vaccination.

The cases of Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS), a rare autonomic nervous system disorder, are described in recent issues of the Journal of Investigative Medicine High Impact Case Reports and the European Journal of Neurology, and include girls who were wheel-chair bound following injections of Merck's Gardasil vaccine against cervical cancer.

Both studies raise questions about the safety of the HPV vaccine. But more significantly they point to a body of recent evidence that links vaccination not just to POTS but to a much wider range of autoimmune sicknesses including multiple sclerosis, systemic lupus erthematosis and rheumatoid arthritis.'

New Study Links GMO Food To Leukemia

|| || ,,, || Leave a comments

'A groundbreaking new study published in the current issue of the Journal of Hematology & Thromboembolic Diseases reveals the potential "leukemogenic" properties of the Bt toxin biopesticides engineered into the vast majority of GMO food crops already within the US food supply.

Last September, the causal link between cancer and genetically modified food was confirmed in a French study, the first independent long-term animal feeding study not commissioned by the biotech corporations themselves. The disturbing details can be found here: New Study Finds GM Corn and Roundup Causes Cancer In Rats

Now, a new study published in the Journal of Hematology & Thromboembolic Diseases indicates that the biopesticides engineered into GM crops known as Bacillus Thuringensis (Bt) or Cry-toxins, may also contribute to blood abnormalities from anemia to hematological malignancies (blood cancers) such as leukemia.[i]'

'An astounding 70% or more of Americans are deficient in the essential mineral magnesium. Low levels can have deadly effects.

Epidemiologic studies have suggested that low magnesium may be associated with higher rates of colorectal cancer among other diseases. Now a meta-analysis confirms that higher magnesium intakes are associated with a lower risk of colorectal cancer and especially colon cancer.

Researchers from Soochow University in China analyzed eight prospective studies covering 338,979 participants. Their results, published in the European Journal of Clinical Nutrition, found the highest average intake of magnesium was associated with an 11% reduction in colorectal cancer risk compared to the lowest average intake.'

'New research reveals that consuming two or more cups of coffee each day reduces the risk of death from liver cirrhosis by 66%, specifically cirrhosis caused by non-viral hepatitis. Findings in Hepatology, a journal published by Wiley on behalf of the American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases, show that tea, fruit juice, and soft drink consumption are not linked to cirrhosis mortality risk. As with previous studies heavy alcohol use was found to increase risk of death from cirrhosis.'

Post image for It’s Official! Chocolate IS a Health Food!

'A study released earlier this month looked at the effects of dark chocolate on the gut microbiome. Yikes! My two favorite subjects – chocolate and gut bacteria! Nirvana! The findings were presented at the 247th National Meeting & Exposition of the American Chemical Society (ACS) – and revealed that certain gut bacteria ferment the molecules of dark chocolate, producing polyphenolic compounds that are anti-inflammatory. This anti-inflammatory effect may reduce the long term risk of stroke.

This study was funded by Louisiana State College of Agriculture and a Louisiana AgCenter Undergraduate Research Grant. It is the first, ever, to look at the effects of dark chocolate on the microbial communities in the gut. According to John Finley Ph.D., who was the leader of the study,

When these compounds are absorbed by the body, they lessen the inflammation of cardiovascular tissue, reducing the long-term risk of stroke.'

'Hard-core adherents of the faddish Paleo diet like to crow that       eating like our über-great ancestors is a way to beat the scourge  of  so-called “modern” diseases like cancer. So what to make of a         recent study published in the journal Cell Metabolism that found      people who eat lots of protein in middle age were more likely to      die of cancer than those who eat less? How much more likely?        Four times. That puts the increased cancer risk on par with          smoking.'

Live Flu Vaccines Increase Infectious Bacteria Counts 100-Fold in Mice

 'If presumably safer "attenuated" flu vaccines are supposed to protect against influenza and its sometimes deadly complications, then why do vaccinated mice have up to 100-fold higher levels of flu-associated pathogenic bacteria than non-vaccinated mice?

A concerning new study published in mBio, an open access journal of the American Society of Microbiology, titled, "Live Attenuated Influenza Vaccine Enhances Colonization of Streptococcus pneumoniae and Staphylococcus aureus in Mice," reveals that live attenuated influenza vaccines (LAIVs) lead to the rapid and sustained overgrowth of pathogenic bacteria in the upper respiratory tract of mice at colonization densities up to 100-fold higher than non-vaccinated mice.'

Largest, Longest Study on Mammograms Again Finds No Benefit

'It appears once again, major industry defenders will remain in complete denial and do anything possible to put profits before people.

An annual mammogram is the conventional go-to "prevention" strategy for breast cancer. But researchers increasingly agree that mammography is ineffective at best and harmful at worst.

Unfortunately, breast cancer is big business, and mammography is one of its primary profit centers. This is why the industry is fighting tooth and nail to keep it, even if it means ignoring the truth.

Several studies over the past few years have concluded that mammograms do not save lives, and may actually harm more women than they help, courtesy of false positives, overtreatment, and radiation-induced cancers.'

ED NOTE: Once again another propaganda cannabis lie is busted!

'A recent study conducted by Andras Biokei-Gorzo at the Institute of Molecular Psychiatry at the University of Bonn in Germany is suggesting that marijuana(or the activation of the brain’s cannabinoid system) triggers the release of antioxidants, which act as a cleansing mechanism. This process is known to remove damaged cells and improve the efficiency of mitochondria. Mitochondria is the energy source that powers cells.  The study was published in Philosophical Transactions Of The Royal Society, B.'

Study Confirms That Matters of the Heart Directly Influence The Health of Your Heart

'University of Utah researchers have shown that the ways in which you are supported, can actually have significant bearing on your overall cardiovascular health. The findings announced by Psychological Science reveal that when both partners perceive having mixed feelings about the support they get from each other, each partner’s levels of coronary artery calcification (CAC) tend to be particularly high.

 “There is a large body of epidemiological research suggesting that our relationships are predictors of mortality rates, especially from cardiovascular disease,” explains Bert Uchino, psychological scientist of the University of Utah. “But most prior work has ignored the fact that many relationships are characterized by both positive and negative aspects -- in other words, ambivalence.”'
